Counting down to Halloween
September 20, 2012I've never been one to decorate or pay much mind to Halloween (except when I was a kid); I usually dress up the living room and dining room for fall and definitely for Christmas. But, thanks to my latest Pinterest addiction, I have become addicted to Halloween decor. If you look at my Halloween Pinterest page you will find everything from spooky snacks to DIY ghosts that I can't wait to try! Most everything looks like it will be pretty cheap to make; I'll get back with you on that. :)
Here are some things that I will definitely be trying for our Halloween party on the eve of the OU/Notre Dame football game (Boomer Sooner!):
A starched fabric ghost. How cool is that?!
I love love love this one. Too easy.
This one is almost done already. Remember the dead tree limbs I used for our Easter tablescape? I just added a little black spray paint. Now I just need to find some crows.
These illuminating ghosts are made from tomato cages. Why can't I think of stuff like this?!
This is just too cool.
I know I said that I am trying all of these ideas, but I am DEFINITELY making these eyeball truffles. Remember these Oreo truffles? How perfect?! And simple!

I know that orange is the one color every Sooner fan should despise...but, in the spirit of Halloween, I may just have to make this white hot chocolate recipe and color it...gag...orange. Isn't the peep marshmallow cute?! I also found the idea of freezing cool whip on a baking sheet and then using cookie cutters to cut out festive shapes. Also fun!
When pumpkins cost under $4 each, how can you NOT do something like this?
These styrofoam heads cost $4.99 each at Hobby Lobby ($3 if you use a 40% off coupon from their Web site!), and you can find guaze in any first aid kit you have lying around.
I love this idea. We have a couple of chandeliers we can dress up with cheesecloth to (hopefully) make them resemble this photo.
Again, so easy.
Who doesn't love chocolate-dipped pretzels?
I love dry ice.
What a perfect use for a pumpkin!
Bleeding candles. Love them.
Love it.
I will have to recycle a few awesome ideas from our Twilight party as well, like this blood-covered popcorn:

...and these yummy bloody cupcakes

Links to all of these ideas can be found on my Halloween Pinterest page. I simply can't wait for Oct. 1 to get here!
Until then, <3
