Lunch Smoothie--"It's Easy Being Green"
February 13, 2013Well, it's day 1 of my green diet and so far, so good!
Since Monday, I have made 4 green smoothies. They've all been different, and they all have tasted wonderful! I use them as meal replacements as they usually make between 2 1/2 to 3 cups.
I made my lunch smoothie before I left for work today. Here's what's in it:
- 1/2 cup grapes
- 1/2 orange, peeled
- 1/4 cup fresh pineapple, core included
- 1/2 banana, peeled
- 1/2 carrot--or in my case, a small handful of baby carrots
- 1 cup fresh spinach, washed
- 1/2 apple, quartered
I threw all of those ingredients in the order listed into my blender and added about 3 cups of ice.
Not the prettiest color green, but very tasty and nutritious! Lunch...done!
Check out my new page, Eating Green (on the menu bar), for other plant-based recipes and foods you can substitute for your favorite meals (like cereal!), no matter what your diet is!
*It's a little bare right now, as I'm just starting out. I'll share more recipes and info as I learn it. :)
