Our Last Day as a Family of Two
June 02, 2015Tomorrow, we start a new chapter: Parenthood.
Five short years ago – when we got married – we each expressed we could never see ourselves as parents. We were in our early 20s and wanted to do things on our own time without having to worry about hauling a kid around. We didn't want anything to get in the way of the fun we were (and still are!) having. Oh, how far we've come.
We are ecstatic to be welcoming our little Bryson into the world! He will be loved by so many people who can't wait to spoil him!
Unless he decides to arrive on his own tonight – it's a full moon tonight, so it's entirely possible! – I will be induced early tomorrow morning. Either way, we have been ready for his arrival for weeks. Our bags have been packed, his clothes, sheets and towels have been washed, his bottles have been sterilized, all of his gear has been installed and is ready to go. We've just been missing him!
The doc says he could be on the bigger side – between 8.5 and 9 pounds – which is why she doesn't want to wait until my due date of June 9. Don't get too comfortable, Bryson! We're coming for you! :)
Those who had terrible pregnancies: Look away now. I could not have asked for a better pregnancy. I never experienced morning sickness; I never had heart burn; All of my blood tests always came back normal; No complications occurred during the pregnancy. It's safe to say we've been truly blessed. Hopefully, the delivery will go as smoothly as the pregnancy.
We've taken the last two days pretty easy. Hubs did a little work on the backyard and a little landscaping in the front yard. I've tried to get ahead on laundry and making sure the house is in order so I won't have to worry about it in the coming days/weeks. :)
I'll post pictures of our little bundle on my Facebook and Instagram pages in the coming days, and definitely on here. Stay tuned! :)
