Photography Backdrops

July 10, 2015

Being at home all day with a (mostly) sleeping baby puts the creative side of my mind to work. While photographing my sweet Bryson (he's already over 5 weeks old!), I have begun searching Pinterest and finding cute photography ideas for him and my 10-month-old nephew. I also have several friends who are having girls and have expressed interest in letting me play around with photographing them, so you'll slso see sequins, lace and a little pink. :)

I have gathered quite the collection of backdrops and set-ups and thought I would share them.

First, meet my empty cupcake stand prop. I was so anxious to put my set-ups together, I couldn't wait on my son or nephew to be ready to take photos, so I grabbed the next best thing...this vintage-looking cupcake stand, haha.

In the above picture, the backdrop is fabric from Hobby Lobby (30% off! Woot!), the trim board is a pre-painted base trim board from Lowe's (it was 8 feet long, so Hubs cut it in half and I may paint the other half a different color), and the checkered floor is a fabric, also from Hobby Lobby.

Background: Photo backdrop paper from Hobby Lobby (a 4'x12' roll on clearance for only $7!); Floor: Photo backdrop paper from Hobby Lobby

Both the background and the "floor" are photo backdrop paper rolls from Hobby Lobby.

Both the background and the floor are fabrics from Hobby Lobby. I have carpet in the room I was using for these photos, so I was sure to put the fabric "floor" over the ceramic tiles to give it a nice flat look.

This is one of my favorites. :)
