Better Late Than Never: Bryson's First Vacation

December 20, 2016

Waaaaaay back in June (yes, almost seven months ago), our little Bryson took his first vacation! It wasn't so much a vacation for me, but we all had a great time!

I had a conference in Omaha, Nebraska, and Hubs and I decided it was the perfect distance for a road trip — about seven hours. We set out on Bryson's first birthday and took him to so many fun places!

I think this might have even been his first morning waking up in a hotel room.

Our first stop: The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum!

Then, we drove through a wildlife safari park. It must not have been very entertaining because Bryson fell asleep, haha. We still got some great pictures, though.

We ended the day with a birthday cupcake from a cute bakery in downtown Omaha.

Day two was a big one: We hit one of the nation's top zoos, Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. It was such a great place!

The next day, my conference began, but we still fit in some fun activities. We went all-out tourist and walked the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, which spans Nebraska and Iowa over the Missouri River.

Then, we took a dinner cruise down the Missouri River, where our little man got to steer his first boat (pardon the cell phone photos!)!

On our final day, we visited a children's museum and Heartland of America Park, where we watched a HUGE fountain...Bryson loved it.

And that was Bryson's first vacation: Omaha, Nebraska! He began walking not long after this vacation, but I know he had fun being carted around everywhere (wouldn't we all?). Next year, we have our sights set on the east coast: Charleston, South Carolina, another first for all of us!

It's incredible how much he has grown since these photos were taken. I promise not to let seven months go by between next year's vacation and posting the photos, haha.

Thanks for following along and have a very merry Christmas!
