New Year, New Resolutions

December 26, 2016

Well friends, another Christmas has come and gone and it's time to look forward to a new year with new goals, new challenges, new thinking and new hope. It's one of my favorite times of year. While I love reflecting and thinking back on what worked and what didn't — along with the countless memories made — I enjoy looking ahead and dreaming of the endless possibilities another year brings.

With each passing year, I become more determined to meet and exceed the goals set for me personally and for our family. I must continually remind myself that, while making plans is important, God's plan is the only one that really matters and, when necessary, my plan will need to adapt to His.

I am SO excited to finally be able to put to use one of my favorite parts of my personalized planner: The New Year, New You resolutions pages! This is where I will write down all of our goals and how I plan to track them. I intentionally left space at the beginning of each month, as well as a monthly mission board, that will also help us stay the path.

Dave Ramsey offers some stellar tips I plan on using when setting my New Year's resolutions:

"Smart goals that work must...

  • Be specific
  • Be measurable
  • Have a time limit
  • Be yours
  • Be in writing
I encourage you to click the link and read the entire article, especially if you're serious about your personal or family goals for 2017. After all,

Having trouble finding where to start? Here's a helpful worksheet created by Dave's team that is a good temporary alternative to a personalized planner and will allow you to put your goals on paper. Set aside 30 minutes to an hour to really think about what you would like to accomplish in 2017.

Now, I would LOVE to hear how you set your New Year's resolutions! If you're up for it, fill out the form below, click Submit, and I will share my favorite New Year planning tips in an upcoming post!

As always, thanks for reading!
