My Husband: The Handyman

July 31, 2011

As this whole home-building project has progressed, Corey & I have had to make decisions of whether or not we want to buy something (like beds, a dining room table, night stands, etc) or make them ourselves. Technically, it would be Corey doing all of the work; he will tell me to just sit there and look pretty. "Look" being the key word. :) All in all, Corey has said he wants to build us a king size bed for our master bedroom and a dining room table (among other things...LOTS of other things). He built the queen size bed we have now and it's still standing, so I guess it's okay for him to build another one. For the dining room table, we're (I say "we"...again, it is "he") going to take the piece of granite they cut out for the cooktop and incorporate that into the table along with some black distressed wood that will match our vent hood. I can't wait to see how it will turn out!

Just last night, Corey installed our under-cabinet lighting (all except for the wiring for the switch). The best part is, it all only cost $40! I'm telling you, he really does know how to do pretty much everything, which is why I was kind of surprised when he told me I would have to take my car to a muffler shop to have its new muffler put on. ;)

Not much happening this weekend except for the installation of our under-cabinet lighting, so here are some pics. Doesn't it look awesome? It's funny how the smallest things make the biggest differences. It may not have been that hard of a task, but honey, you sure looked good doing it :)
