House Update

August 05, 2011

Well, as of yesterday, you can REALLY tell the end is near! Our air conditioning is finally in, the floor was swept and all of the trash & boxes that were in our living room are now gone! Last night I cleaned the granite in the kitchen so it would be shiny, and I wiped the dust off the bathroom cabinets and countertops. With the exception of the carpet and some touch-ups, it looks move-in ready! The plumber has to come back to install the dishwasher (not sure why this wasn't done when he was there the first time), and we are installing our refrigerator this weekend! I absolutely can't wait to see what the cabinet panels for the front of it will look like! Can't go wrong with painting & glazing them to match the cabinets, though. :) A couple of nights ago, Corey and I sat out there for an hour, just sitting there thinking about what all we were going to do once we moved in. This time last year, we weren't even looking for a house and Corey had literally just got his job at Hitachi; we were content with our tiny apartment. It's so hard to believe that we have been blessed the way we have, and that only 28 days separate us from beginning to move in! Another thing I can't wait to do is put our Christmas trees up. Yes. That was treeS. Plural. :) Last year, I got a great deal on a 9 ft. tree during an after-Christmas sale, and by that time we already knew we would have 10 ft. ceilings, so I jumped all over that. I already had a 6 ft. tree that had been used in our apartment, so I'll put the 6 ft. tree in our study (since it faces the street), and I'll put the 9 ft'er in our living room! Can't wait!!

Anywho, here are some pictures of our CLEAN house! All that's missing is the carpet and all the furniture & decor that has been in waiting for a long time now :)
