Bridal Photos and Junk-Packing

August 29, 2011

Last week, I shared with you some never-before-seen wedding photos; digging through my computer some more, I ran across some bridal pics! When I was picking out my dress, I had every intention of wearing my hair in an updo or an all-to-one-side do, so I thought this dress was perfect because it had a halter top and an optional train that clipped to the dress at the back of my neck. Come wedding day, I wanted to wear my hair down because it was so long and did pretty much whatever I told it to. I went back and forth on whether or not I wanted to wear the train, so at the last minute, I decided to wear it. I had envisioned it blowing mystically in the breeze behind me as I walked down the aisle; instead, there was nothing but a 95-degree day with the sun beating down and no breeze whatsoever. Don't you love it when you can't do a darn thing about stuff? :) Oh well, here are some pics from an earlier day that my friend Patti Rogers took:

Well, as you know, the big move is coming up THIS WEEKEND! I can't believe it's already here! All of the stuff we got for our wedding is still in its boxes in our storage closet at our apartment, so it will be easy to load up. When we moved across town from our old apartment, we literally threw everything into huge sheets, tossed them over our shoulders and threw them into the cars; not organizing anything in the process. If I were being honest, that's probably exactly what will happen again, especially when it comes time to move our clothes and shoes. Who needs boxes when there are 2 or 3 sets of queen size sheets that are going to have to be moved anyway? Don't laugh if you're driving through Norman and see someone dragging junk-filled sheets across the parking lot; it's just us moving, haha!

I packed up most of the kitchen last night; I left 2 glasses out and told Corey that's all we're drinking out of all week. Those along with the paper plates and plastic forks & spoons are just about all that's left in the kitchen. I want to have a large load ready and in Corey's truck when we go to closing Friday morning, that way we can go straight from there to the house and start moving in! Yay!!
