Photos from our big day! (Yes, our wedding day :) ) & more home stuff.

August 25, 2011

I'm aware it has been over a year since our wedding, but I just realized I have never shared any pics from that day. Right after Corey got moved to Norman last year, found a job and everything settled down, we started this whole home-building journey and haven't looked back.

Below are some never-before-seen pics from our wedding day, including the ranch fountain (<3) and the almost-melted chocolate cake!

Now, on to the one thing that has been occupying our time (and $$) for the past 10 months, and will continue to for several years afterward: Our first home~

Yesterday, I spent a few hours in the master bathroom painting the walls surrounding the tub the same chocolate brown I used in the living room. After the walls dried, I painted a layer of copper glaze on over the brown, then almost immediately started wiping it off, leaving the glaze in the crevices of the texturing. It kind of gave it an Egyptian feel, very cool. Here are some pics of it:

Then, we stenciled the pantry door in the kitchen. It didn't turn out quite like I had hoped, so I am going to use a tiny artist's brush (and a very steady hand) to outline the word "pantry" in a darker color.

If you're wondering what those blobs are at the bottom, I found some cute stencils at Hobby Lobby that included a mixer, rolling pin, whisk and other kitchen gadgets. We attempted to use some of them, but they didn't turn out very well, so we wiped it off and Corey re-glazed over that part. :)

In 8 days, we can officially call this house ours! September is going to be a GREAT month! :) Now, go out and enjoy National Banana Split Day by treating yourself to a yummy chocolate & whipped cream-covered banana split! You deserve it!
