Friday Favorites: Upcoming Events
October 12, 2012Have I mentioned how much I LOVE fall? The trees are finally beginning to turn and the weather is perfect! My favorite TV shows are back on and all is good. :) So, today I'm looking ahead to what I'm most excited about so far this season...
1. A Vacation!
Remember last year's vacation at nearly the same time? You'd be surprised how much more you get for your money if you just wait a couple months after summer to travel. As long as it's somewhere tropical, the temperature's gonna be the same and the margaritas are gonna taste the same. This year, we'll be island-hopping in the Caribbean - and it will be Hubs' first 'international' trip! Watch in the coming weeks for that particular update. :) Cheers!
2. Halloween Party
My last three posts have somehow been related to my latest interest: throwing the perfect Halloween party. The decorations are being put up and the menu is being planned thanks to Pinterest. Now all I have to do is think of my costume. Suggestions? Let's 'eat, drink and be scary!'
3. Carrie Underwood Concerts
Yes, you read that correctly. One of my FAVORITE singers is coming to Oklahoma twice (OKC & Tulsa) and I have to be there both times! Judging from the reviews so far, we're gonna be 'blown away!'
4. Breaking Dawn Part II Premiere
Say what you want, but half the fun is meeting up with your friends for drinks and a balcony-viewing of the saga's final movie! Who really watches these movies for the acting? :)
5. Graduation
I will be graduating in December - as long as I pass my comprehensive exam paper - with my Master's in Human Relations! I'm so ready for school to be over forever! Funny how it took me the exact same time to earn 33 credit hours as it did for me to earn 120 for my Bachelor's degree three years ago. Seems laziness has found a friend. :)
6. Holidays
Who doesn't love the Holidays? Fried turkey, dressing, pumpkin pie, hot cocoa, family, friends, football...is there really anything better?
7. The Release of Hidden
For the last few years, I have been reading a series called House of Night that a co-worker suggested. It involves vampires - I know, I know :) - but it's written by a mother and daughter who live in Broken Arrow, Okla., and it's set in Tulsa! It's cool to know the places being referred to - like Utica Square, Philbrook Museum and the underground tunnels, to name a few. The first book is called Marked; let me know if you want to borrow it to get started!
So there are a few things I'm looking forward to in the coming months~ What about you?
