Burlap & Lace Utensil Holders
July 15, 2013
So the Save-the-Dates for my Pinterest Party went out last week and I've had quite a few people ask me what it is. It's fun seeing them get almost as excited as I am. JI know September 21 will get here before I know it, so I am slowly but surely hand-crafting different things for it. Last week, Pinterest inspired me to make a DIY photo booth, so I made my first vintage prop for it using things I already had. This past weekend, I ran across these pins which inspired me to make my own utensil holders:
Cute, right?!
I got a 30 ft. roll of wired burlap ribbon at Hobby Lobby (with a 40% off coupon!) and thought it would be the perfect width. The less burlap cutting I had to do the better (it's a mess!). It turns out I was right. Plus, no sewing required! Here's how they turned out after I added some lace, raffia and flowers:

I am IN LOVE with the silver faux silverware! I found a 120-piece set at Sam's for only $8! That's cheaper than the 12-pack set at Dollar Tree! And those cute vintage napkins came from TJ Maxx.
All I did was cut a strip of ribbon, double it over about half-way to make a pocket and tied a thin lace ribbon and raffia around it. Then I just hot glued a little flower over the knot and snipped the top corners off. The silverware fit perfectly! It's such a cheap, easy way to dress up a table, and if you just need 6 or 8, then it takes no time at all.
Then, I found rolls of burlap with lace and chevron stripes painted on them, so I decided to add a little variety:
These were so cute I didn't need to add anything but some hot glue!
