Here's where we left it last week:


We started out today by putting up the other set of joists:




Whew! Those were heavy! We were glad to be done with the heaviest of lifting.



Then, it was on to the rafters. These wouldn't take so long since the ends would be cut at a 45-degree angle as opposed to the decorative ends on the joists (I actually hand-drew that design after finding one like it on Pinterest).





Plus, they were a lot lighter to lift 12 feet up to rest on top of the joists.


We had half of them up before we knew it, and decided to call it a day.




Tomorrow after work, we're hoping to put up the rest of the rafters. If we get that far, all we'll have left is the batting, then we can start on the deck! I have found tons of great ideas on Pinterest and I can't wait to see it all come together!
