Project Deck: Slowly but Surely

As I mentioned in this post a few days ago, we've been moving slowly since the pergola has been built. Hot days, rainstorms, laziness, etc...you get the idea. It is AUGUST in Oklahoma, after all.

The last couple of days brought unseasonably beautiful weather, so we had to take advantage. Below are a few pics of our progress...

The plans I have for this fire pit...We're going to move it to the south side of our deck and build a boardwalk out to it. Then, we will build in benches and put sand between the fire pit and the benches so we will feel like we're on the beach! Yes, I found that idea on Pinterest (where else?), and I hope to bring back some sand from the Gulf Coast next week! How cool would that be?!
