Backyard Remodel: Landscaping (Phase 1)

May 01, 2015

Last summer, we began a backyard project that has grown into an entire backyard remodel. It is just as I had envisioned, and we're putting the finishing touches on it: Landscaping.

If you've been following along, you'll see we began with a pergola and deck. Once we finished that, we built a boardwalk out to what would become our beach-inspired fire pit area. We added wicker furniture, hammocks, Adirondack chairs and umbrellas to the appropriate spaces, then lighting and tiki torches. Next up is beautifying it with trees, shrubs, flowers and a water feature!

After renting a sod cutter from Home Depot, Hubs dug it up and outlined it with wood timbers.

Here's a somewhat-panoramic picture of the size of the area we have to work with.

In the large area between the deck and the fire pit is where we will dig a hole for a small water feature! Ooohhh, I can't wait for that!

Stay tuned!
