¡Bienvenido a México!
April 10, 2017
While our little ginger was having fun with Nonna and Poppa in Oklahoma, we were busy soaking up the sun and not worrying one bit about all of the delicious calories we were consuming. It's nice to only have access to real, wholesome, fresh foods rather than the processed junk that's so convenient at home. If you follow me on Instagram, you no doubt saw a few of these pics already, because if it's not on social media it didn't happen, right? ;)
Here are some photos of our four days at Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun.
Side note: These were all taken on our cell phones, as we traveled carry-on only, and I didn't want to lug around my good DSLR.
Enjoy!

Traveling carry-on only is THE way to go, especially on an airline like Spirit that has super low rates but charges you for absolutely everything. We flew out of DFW at 7 a.m. after staying the night before at the Hyatt Regency, which is on one of the airport terminals.
Upon arriving at the resort at about 11 a.m., we were welcomed with these amazing blue drinks. I have no clue what they were, but they were delicioso!
We wasted no time hitting the beach...
...and the pool.
Mood.
The wind blows a constant 100 mph (exaggeration), and I eventually gave up on doing anything to my hair.
Part of the beautiful lagoon-style pool at sunset.
Of course we had to chat with our little man after bath time! <3
Monday, April 3
Morning mochas were our go-to drinks before hitting the pool and beach.
Oh, and mimosas because, you know, when in Rome...
Lounging on built-in pool loungers was the best feeling.
Guacamole for breakfast. Guacamole for lunch. Guacamole for snack. Guacamole for...you get the idea.
Ready for dinner!
Only a little sunburned...
Tuesday, April 4
I didn't mean to wake up before sunrise, but since I did, I had to run down to the beach and see it in all its glory.
Claiming our palapa for the day...
I hope you didn't think I was kidding about guacamole for breakfast. It went perfectly with their breakfast empañadas and burritos.
Just a Bahama Mama...
The views were unbelievable from everywhere.
<3
Dinnertime!
We ate dinner at Lemongrass, one of the restaurants at the resort. It was Asian cuisine, and chopsticks were the only option at the beginning...
I had never tried sushi before...
...and after a chopstick mishap...
...I finally tried it. It wasn't too bad! I had no idea what I was eating and, frankly, I didn't want to know.
We dined al fresco over this lagoon that went throughout the whole property. It had beautiful fountains everywhere you looked. This photo is from the resort's website.

A truly beautiful place to escape...
We loved the architecture and attention to detail.
Dinner on our last night before heading back to see our little man!
The resort's Blue Water Grill put us dining just off the beach on a beautiful covered deck. The wine, food and company was perfect.
A not-so-good glimpse at the pool lit up at night. A stunning resort.
Thursday, April 6
Just a few more sunrise photos before heading home.
¡Hasta que nos encontremos de nuevo (until we meet again), Mexico!
