Y'all. Remember last year's planner? Some of you might because you ordered one for yourself. Well, all year I've been taking notes on ways to improve it and make it more effective for 2018 and...IT'S FINISHED!

We celebrated our first Christmas get-together of the season last night with my sister, brother-in-law and the cutest nephew ever! We had dinner and exchanged Christmas gifts, and the boys decorated sugar cookies and made ornaments. We had such a fun time while wearing our matching Rudolph pajamas!
It's so hard to believe our Bryson is almost 1 year old! It seems like just yesterday we were making last-minute plans for his arrival. Time flies when you're having fun, and are we ever!
We recently completed our backyard oasis, and it was the perfect time to christen the fab entertainment space with a party! Since I recently became a Thirty-One consultant, I knew this would be the perfect time to kick off my new venture.
Eek! I'm SO excited to finally share with you our sweet little man's nursery! Both Hubs and I have put a lot of work into it and we are very proud of it! (Scroll down to the very bottom to see what we are naming him and the fun story behind it.)
As you will see, the metals and unfinished wood give the nursery a rustic touch. Hubs' handmade hutch and dresser topper offset the natural finishes with their deep, rich tone. I love how it all comes together with the plaids and earth tones I used for the bedding, curtains, etc. One thing is for sure...he will have a unique nursery all his own.
It's safe to say little man's nursery has consumed my life the last three weeks! The only piece missing is the dresser, and it's all coming together perfectly.
If you caught the sneak peek last week, you'll know we're going for a rustic feel in his nursery. While I can't wait to show it all to you in one reveal, I couldn't help but share the mobile I redid for the crib!
Has it really been over three months since I have posted anything?! Wow, how time has flown!
Actually, thinking back...my last post was made on Sept. 29. The next day, we got our first positive pregnancy test, so maybe we have been busier than I thought preparing for the arrival of our little man!
If you can't tell from my DIY page, I love taking old things and making them new. This easy chandelier upcycle is my latest project, and I am so proud of how it turned out.
Here is my first DIY project for my nephew, Mason, who is set to arrive around the beginning of September!
His nursery is navy blue and white with a touch of red. So, I painted these letters (which were 75 cents each at Hobby Lobby) with navy blue spray paint and used a square of sandpaper to give it an antique look.
Have you ever tried to plan a baby shower for a boy with NO use of the color "baby blue"? I am, and it is proving to be quite the challenge. I am determined to pull through, but it will be tough.
My sister is having a boy in less than two months, and his nursery colors are navy blue and white with a touch of red. It is not nautical-, Americana- or baseball-themed...simply patterns and colors. Very modern and chic for a boy. I am all about consistency and flow, so I am trying to carry over those colors into the shower, but absolutely everywhere I look is that baby blue. Lucky for me, there's this little thing called Pinterest.
Continuing on my Vera Bradley Java Blue kick, I thought it would be fun to make coasters containing my favorite design. This project was a first for me, and after completing it with ease, it most definitely will not be my last [warning to my friends/family with upcoming birthdays...you can expect to receive personalized coasters. :)]
You can say I'm pretty obsessed with Vera Bradley's retired Java Blue print. It's perfect...not too girly, and not light enough to show stains [if you know me, you know this is a very important feature, haha ;)]. It was love at first sight.
When I graduated high school in 2006, I received several luggage pieces and totes in this print, most of which I have and still use to this day. In 2010, Vera retired this print to make way for other, less attractive prints. Apparently, nearly four years later, Java Blue is still pretty popular, as it is still being offered in select items on VeraBradley.com...like this iPhone case I received for Christmas:
