If you've been following along for the last couple months, you know I've been planning a vintage-inspired Pinterest party. I have always loved planning events and thinking of ANY excuse to have friends over, and this turned out to be a perfect idea!
So the whole point of my Pinterest party was to have a few of my favorite people join together and create a crafty project. While one of my favorite parts was making preparations for the party, I also thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship with great friends.
Oh my gosh. I had seen SO many awesome ideas for this on Pinterest, and I could not wait to make my own. Mimosas are one of my favorite ways to kick off the weekend morning, and I couldn't wait to share one (or two) with friends. :)
If you've ever thrown a party before, you know preparing for it is the most time-consuming part...more specifically, setting up the tables and chairs. The case was no different for me as I put together the table and chair decorations with A LOT of help from my sweet Hubs, sister and brother-in-law (Thanks guys!).
I will be the first to admit I am not a fan of yogurt. But, with the right ingredients, you can flip anyone into a yogurt lover. This is another one of those things where you can quickly become overwhelmed with ideas. If you just stick to the basics--fresh fruit and granola--you should be good. However, I like mine more on the unhealthier side, so I may have added something a little different. :)
I LOVE popcorn. Cotton candy...not so much. But, the colors seemed to go so well with everything else, I thought, "Why not?" Plus, it made for a perfect parting favor for my guests.
The party is exactly 30 days away and the invites are just about ready to be sent out. Yay!
In keeping along with the vintage theme, I had the invites printed by a local printer on simple glossy cardstock paper and added a unique touch to each one. A lot of the burlap and lace trims I used were left over from previous projects (like the Save-the-Dates and plastic cups). Here's how they turned out:
I am SO excited to have a vintage photo booth at my Pinterest Party in a couple of months! Over the weekend, I spent some time making more props for it, and they turned out GREAT!
Thanks to these wonderful---and FREE---print-outs I was able to easily make my own using some durable foam felt boards and dowels from Hobby Lobby. Such an inexpensive project! I love it!
So a few weeks ago, I found these frames from Hobby Lobby for $1.80 each. I had seen this idea on Pinterest and decided to copy it using colors and accents that will match my decor.
I grabbed my can of Krylon Glitter Blast spray paint and went to work. I love the burlap bow...too easy!
These are still a work in progress as of this morning, but I am just so excited to show you how I've taken plastic cups from Dollar Tree and given them new life!
These may be my favorite creations yet simply because of the variety. There are no two the same, and I simply used the same little flowers and buttons as I did on my Save-the-Dates. I also made paper sleeves for a few and used raffia, lace and ribbon to accent them.
So the Save-the-Dates for my Pinterest Party went out last week and I've had quite a few people ask me what it is. It's fun seeing them get almost as excited as I am. JI know September 21 will get here before I know it, so I am slowly but surely hand-crafting different things for it. Last week, Pinterest inspired me to make a DIY photo booth, so I made my first vintage prop for it using things I already had. Do you ever get the hankerin' for something? The other day, out of the blue, I had this urge to host a party (kinda the same way my Halloween party came about last year). I knew I didn't want to sell anything---like Mary Kay, Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, etc.---but I found the PERFECT reason to have people over and mix up mimosas...a Pinterest party!
