Last night, I was watching The Bachelor finale--a whole story in and of itself--and one of the girls, Nikki, made a statement about relationships not having any passion unless fighting is involved. It's not the first time I have heard this expressed, but I want to share my views on it because I believe it to be completely unfounded and untrue.

My nine-year relationship with Hubs is living proof.

The past few weeks, everyone has been posting things they are thankful for on their Facebook statuses, therefore blowing up my news feed and forcing me to sift through to the interesting stuff. It's all the same, thankful for kids, parents, material things, etc. Don't get me wrong, I too am thankful for my jacket on cold days, hair straightener and makeup concealer. Some of the things crack me up! It's like they've ran out of things to be thankful for so they're going through their closets and makeup bags desperately looking for something to post on Facebook because, heaven forbid, they go a day without posting something. Haha! This is one of the reasons that my friends list is down to 255. I get annoyed very easily. It dropped dramatically after OU's second loss this season when idiots people starting posting crap about how OU football now sucks and OSU is the greatest. Ugh. Give me a break. DE-LETE. My cousin who is a HUGE Texass Longhorn fan isn't even that bad. I mean seriously. Come on.

I forgot to tell you about the run-in I had with stupid Cox Communications on Friday. I had called weeks ago to schedule a time for them to be at our house to set up cable & internet. Lord knows I have entirely too many shows to watch and if I miss one, then I have to wait until the morning hash at work the next day. Somehow I am expected to sleep at night not knowing who got the highest score on DWTS? Or who got sent home on The Bachelor or Bachelorette? I don't think so. :) Anywho, we are told that we can get a "VIP package" from Cox if we set it up through our builder. So we cancel what we had originally scheduled, and waited on someone to "call us" from Cox to set this up. Seeing as how I have a life and can't sit by a phone 24/7 and wait for someone to call me, it slipped my mind. The DAY we're moving in, someone calls and says the soonest they can get out there is "next WEDNEDAY." (tomorrow) ?!?! I. am. livid. I ended up hanging up on the poor girl on the phone; she wasn't telling me what I was wanting to hear. They were supposed to be out there Saturday, and now it was going to be Wednesday? I was NOT going to have that. So Corey & I stopped in the Cox store in Norman when we made another trip back to load some more stuff up, and I had made up my mind that I was NOT going to settle for anything less than what I had been told the first time. Saturday morning. That was it. We walked in, and some jerk was yelling at one of the Cox workers, and then I remembered....that used to be me. I was the one being yelled at when I worked in customer service here at the electric co-op. The poor guy being yelled at just kept saying "I'm sorry sir," etc. Oh, the things I would've said under my breath after that guy left. Anyway, so I walk up to a different person, and I tell her the story, and she types away on her keyboard, and says, "It looks like someone from our VIP department was supposed to give you a call, and it's showing as a no-schedule." No? Really? You think? THAT'S WHY I'M MAD LADY. I could see that there was nothing she was going to be able to do, so I caved, not wanting to be that person. I have been in to many situations where those people throw fits because they don't get what they want and demand to be given things that are nearly impossible (free electricity? hahahaha!) not knowing that we are noting every single thing they do for when it happens again, because it will. So instead, I settled for 8 free pay-per-view movies and a discount on our bill for a few months. Come to think of it, I don't think I should have to pay for installation either. Corey could do it all himself if he wanted to....looks like I'm making another trip to the Cox store today. :)

Oh, and as of tomorrow, we'll have a DVR for the first time! Woo hoo! I know I know, DVRs are so 7 or 8 years ago, but I was ticked at Cox at the time (lol) and didn't want to give them any more money, and I would not budge. Plus, I really didn't see any point in it, I watched (and still watch) everything in real time. I like to text others while the shows are running, ("OMG Chaz Bono is on this season!") and I sure don't like to be behind. But now, I'll be able to watch General Hospital!! Woo hoo! Corey is going to love this! :)

I have a "Days Until" app on my phone, which lets me put important future dates in it, and it counts down the days until the event. I *love* having things to look forward to (our 2012 cruise is already in it, just under 450 days to go! Woo hoo! lol!) I was looking through it this morning, and I got to thinking of lots of other things as well. So here is a list of random events and thoughts that have crossed my mind in the last few days.

Did you know...

• ...that 5 years ago today, I started my very first day working at OEC, AND I started my first day as an OU student! Time flies!
• ...that today is National Lemon Meringue Pie Day? :)
• ...that this past July was the hottest month in the OKC metro area EVER? A huge "Thanks!" to our apartments for keeping the pool open every day for us to enjoy...NOT.
• ...that I hate hamburgers. Ground beef=yuck.
• ...that Hubs was Hitachi's Employee of the Month for June! (Just now finding this out?) Woo hoo!
• ...that Breaking Dawn part 1 is only 94 days away?! Aaahhh!!!

• ...that people always have their hands out? Wait...maybe that should've gone on my "I Hate it When..." post. Oh well, it's still annoying.
• ...that 1 month from tomorrow, The Lion King is re-released to theaters in 3D?!! It's only in theaters for 2 weeks!! I'm watching the movie ticket web site like a hawk!
• ...that Corey & I will be running two 5Ks in September...which just so happens to be National Chicken Month...not good.
• ...that there are only 18 days left until we close on our house?! Which means there are only 19 days left until OU football!!!!
• ...that going to Wal-Mart anytime between the 1st and 5th of the month is just plain stupid? Unless you enjoy seeing your tax dollars being spent irresponsibly.
• ...that I made my first batch of peanut butter fudge yesterday? Yummy!! Find the recipe here!
• ...that gas prices have doubled since Nov. 2008, (see pic...yes, that says $1.78/gal). What else happened in Nov. 2008? Hmmm.....funny coincidence.

We have our final walk-thru on our house this Wednesday! The carpet was layed last week, so it really feels like a home now! Look for more pics soon~

So the other night, during the Bachelor Pad premiere, there were some small storms in the vicinity of the OKC area, and on every commercial break, they would cut to Rick Mitchell (the Ch. 5 meteorologist) talking about how the wind was starting to pick up, etc. Well, after about an hour, Bachelor Pad didn't come back on, and it was nothing but the weather for the next hour. Don't you hate that? I can pretty much look out my window and figure out how bad it's fixing to be. I don't need it to be interrupting my TV shows.  :)  So, I thought I would give you a list of a few things that really burn me up. :)

I hate it when...

• ...Businesses use upside down M's as W's (or vice versa) on their street signs. Don't ask me why, it's just one of those things. :)
• ...People don't use blinkers when they're driving. Drivers in Norman are THE WORST.  It's like it's such an inconvenience to reach their fingers out an inch and turn their blinkers on. Or maybe they think they're too good to use blinkers. Either way, it ticks me off, and they hear a very loud horn blow if I
  am behind them. And if I have the top off my car, they also hear yelling. Talk about getting my blood boiling.
• ...People are prissy. I just want to tell certain people "Listen, you're not all that, so stop prancing around like you are." These people are absolutely everywhere. They walk like they have sticks shoved up their rears and their noses are pointed to the skies. Annoying. We all know them. We all hate dislike them very much. :)
• ...Taylor Not-So-Swift, aka "NSS" (or anyone for that matter) wins an award over Carrie Underwood. This has sparked numerous heated conversations w/ co-workers...and they all agree with me. NSS sucks, Carrie rules. Yes, it's high-schoolish. No, I don't care. The girl can't sing (NSS that is). Everyone knows it. This has caused me to unfriend people on Facebook. I'm not even kidding. It has also caused things to be thrown at our TV. Don't let hubby fool you. He doesn't like NSS either. He says he would rather listen to me sing, and that's saying a lot...because I can't sing either. Lol~
• ...People don't respond to me when it comes to text messages or comments on Facebook, etc. OR when it takes them 6 months to do so. Seriously? You didn't see my comment but yet you're responding to EVERYONE else's? WTH? Not. Cool.
• ...People take pictures of themselves in mirrors in public bathrooms. Bahahaha!!! This is as funny as it is annoying when it shows up on my FB newsfeed. "Hey! You left the toilet seat up!" Is this really when people feel they're so beautiful that they must share themselves with the world? Under the harsh flourescents of a public bathroom? Yuck!

Thank goodness I have a forgiving God who knows my flaws and knows that I try to brush things off, and that I'm still working on these things that are listed as well :)  You know what they say...Rome wasn't built in a day.

If you are one of these NSS-loving, prancy prissies who doesn't know what a blinker is or how to respond to a message in a timely manner and works at a business who uses upside-down M's as W's....may the Lord be with you :)
